What homeowners worry about — straight answers
I don't want strangers in my house with equipment.
We send a two-person crew with booties, drop cloths, and a single carry-in kit. Photos and bios of our crew are available on request. No sales pitch during the visit; we work, wrap up, and leave.
I have expensive furniture and floors I'm worried about.
Drop cloths go under every window, and any furniture within three feet gets a painter's plastic cover. Hardwood floors, area rugs, plaster walls — all standard for us. If something gets damaged despite this (rare), our insurance covers replacement cost.
My windows haven't been cleaned inside since we moved in — will you judge me?
No. We've seen windows untouched in 20 years — dust, spider eggs, cooking grease. None of it surprises or bothers us. It just takes longer; we give you an honest time and price up front.
I have pets — will it stress them out?
Cats usually hide and are fine. Reactive dogs we recommend crating in a quiet room for 30 minutes per room we're working. If your pet has a specific fear (squeegee sounds, strangers), tell us at booking and we'll work around it.
Do I need to take down blinds and drapes?
No. We pull drapes gently aside and clip them; blinds go up; plantation shutters fold open. Anything that's broken or stuck we leave alone — we won't force a fixture and risk breaking it.
How do I know you'll actually show up?
Booking confirmation email plus text the day before. GPS share on the day-of, starting 30 minutes before the arrival window. If we're running late, you get a text — we don't ghost. If we no-show without contact, the visit is free.
Common questions, straight answers.
Do I need to move things off the sills?
Small items we'll move and replace ourselves. For fragile collections or heavy plants, please clear the sills before we arrive.
Can you do just the dining room and kitchen?
Yes. Per-room quotes start at $79. Tell us which rooms on the scheduling call.
How long does interior cleaning take?
Typically one to two hours for most homes. Interior work is slower than exterior because we have to manage drop cloths, move light furniture, and vacuum tracks more carefully. A full three-story home with detailed tracks and sills can go to four hours.
Do you move furniture away from windows?
Anything up to the weight of a loveseat, yes — we slide it with furniture coasters, never drag. For pianos, heavy armoires, or built-ins we clean what's reachable without risking damage. If you'd like something moved that we can't handle safely, tell us before the visit and we'll reschedule with an extra person.
Do you clean window tracks?
Included on every ground-floor window — tracks collect grit that keeps sliders from closing. Upper-floor tracks are included on request; mention it during booking or the day-of walk-through. We vacuum first, then hand-wipe; stuck-on debris gets a detail brush.
Will you vacuum up spider eggs or debris you find?
Yes. We bring a HEPA shop-vac and a brush attachment specifically for sill corners. Dead insects, dust bunnies, pollen piles — all gone before we wet-wipe the sill.
Can you clean windows with pets in the room?
Cats and small dogs, usually fine — we'll work around them. Large or reactive dogs should be crated or in another room; we carry squeegee handles and drop cloths that can spook them. If a pet makes a mess during the visit we'll clean it; if a pet makes OUR work dirty (muddy paws on fresh glass) we'll note it and re-wipe.
What about drapes, blinds, and plantation shutters?
We pull drapes gently aside and protect them with a clipped cloth. Blinds go up; plantation shutters fold open. We don't dust or deep-clean window coverings as part of the visit — that's a separate service — but we vacuum any debris that lands on them during our work.
Can you clean windows with storm panels or triple-pane glass?
Storm panels are cleaned at the operable pane only; we don't disassemble frames to reach inter-pane surfaces (condensation between panes means the seal has failed, which is a window-replacement issue). Triple-pane is the same as double-pane for us: clean the interior surface, done.
What if my windows are painted shut or won't open?
We won't force them — we'll clean the interior surface as-is and note it on the invoice. For painted-shut windows a sash knife run along the stops often frees them (ask us about a $20 add-on per window). Stuck windows are usually frame-swelling; they often free up on a drier day.
Do you clean glass shower doors or mirrors on the same visit?
Not as part of a window-cleaning package, but we'll add them for $15 per mirror, $40 per shower enclosure. Mirrors we wipe with the same pure-water method so there's no residue; shower enclosures are a deeper job (hard-water buildup) and we quote them case-by-case.
Do you need access to every room?
We only need access to rooms with windows we're cleaning. Feel free to close off bedrooms, home offices, or a nursery — just tell us at the walk-through which windows are off the list so we know what to invoice.
